Role Type: Informative
The Mailman is able to send an anonymous message to a player each Night. This is done by sending the message and its intended recipient to the moderator to pass along.
For some games, the Mailman role may be split into two parts:
- Pen Pals – Players with the power to write anonymous letters to one another. The letters are submitted to the moderators through the Night Action form.
- Mailman – A player who is given the choice: to allow the letters to be delivered from one Pen Pal to the other as expected or to steal the letter for themselves and read what is inside. The Mailman’s choice is to be submitted to the Moderator each Night for the Moderators to distribute accordingly.
Player A: Mailman
Player B: Townie
Night One: Player A uses their ability to send a private message to Player B. The Moderator sends Player A’s private message to Player B, but does not inform Player B the identity of the sender.
You are [insert character name], a [insert alliance] Mailman.
- During each Night, you are able to send a private anonymous message to another player in the Game. In order to use this ability, complete the Night Action form each Night stating who you would like to send a message to and what that message says. Note: You are not allowed to send messages to other players outside of the Game yourself as that is against The Rules.
- You win if all threats to the [insert alliance] are eliminated and at least one [insert alliance]-aligned player is alive.
The Pen Pal roles were previously used in the ADSOM edition.
